A nice day to play outside

Today has been a beautiful day to spend time outside.  We have built sand castles and roads for the boys trucks.  My daughter has learned how to pump her legs on our new swing set and spent the majority of the morning swinging.

Breakfast today was simple:  scrambled eggs, toast and grapes (sorry no picture)

Snack for the morning was a fruit and protein smoothie:

I add one container of Activia yogurt (we prefer cherry or strawberry, because Chloe likes pink)
2 tbs. of protein powder
1 cup of milk
10-20 strawberries

Mix well in a blender or Magic Bullet and enjoy!

For lunch today Chloe chose to have flower grilled cheese and red soup (tomato).  I use tiny cookie cutters from Pampered Chef to cut out the flowers.  I use them to cut up fruit, lunch meat, cheese, toast, etc.  I also think that I have found the perfect bread for sandwiches and toast.  I now only buy:

This bread is thin and can be rolled into fancy sandwiches as well.  The grilled cheese are made with thin slices of marble cheese and butter is used on the outside of the bread for grilling.  Soda crackers or goldfish crackers for the soup is what my kids choose.

Next...what's for supper?

  1. Yum! Today I was thinking that I should start making breakfast smoothies again; thanks for the reminder and visual.

    1. Wendy, you could probably add kale or spinach to yours. I'm glad I made you remember something yummy :)
